🌊 About MAHI

At MAHI, we develop both software and hardware for autonomous and remotely operated vessels. From our base in Mechelen and our testing site in Oostende, we’re building the future of maritime navigation, today. As part of our product development and client support, we operate a compact test vessel in Oostende. This vessel is remote-controlled and packed with sensors and custom software, but we always require qualified crew onboard to safely exit the harbor and oversee on-water operations during tests and demonstrations.

What You’ll Be Doing As a skipper, you’ll assist during:

● Autonomous vessel tests: Ensure safe departure from the dock, stay aboard during trials, and support on-site crew.

● Client demonstrations: Represent MAHI on the water and help the tech team ensure everything runs smoothly.

● Supervision: Monitor on-board systems and communicate with the control center. You’ll work closely with our engineering and operations team, and you’ll be one of the few people in the world who can say they piloted a semi-autonomous ship!

📜 Requirements

● You hold a Yachtman license or an STCW certificate (e.g., II/3 or equivalent under STCW Regulation VII).

● You have a valid GMDSS SRC certificate or better

● You’re reliable, responsible, and feel comfortable on the water

● You’re available to work weekdays in Ostend
