Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting REFRESHER
The Advanced Fire Fighting Refresher course has been designed to meet the requirements of the STCW Convention 1978, as amended, Table A-VI/3. Taking the IMO Model Course 2.03 as a guideline.
Those who succesfully complete this course should achieve the required standard of competence to control fire-fighting operations.
Maritime English
The Maritime English course has been designed to meet the requirements of the Royal Degree VII/10 to 13.
Those who succesfully complete this course should be able to communicate with all parties involved with the voyage of a vessel.
Master / Captain
The Master course has been designed to meet the requirements of the Royal Degree VII/15.
Those who succesfully complete this course will be able to perform the duties of a captain on board a yacht (2,5m - 24m and max 200 GT).
Navigation Cluster
The Navigation Cluster course has been designed to meet the requirements of the Royal Degree VII/14 and 15.
Those who succesfully complete this course will be able to understand the principles of voyage planning using different navigation equipment. Exercises will be performed on a navigation simulator.
Practical Examination 200 GT
The Practical Examination 200 GT course has been designed to meet the requirements of the Royal Degree VII/14 and 15.
The practical test takes place on board the T\S Rupel. The examination will determine whether or not the candidate is able to manoeuvre a yacht and is able to apply the theoretical knowledge.

Scope
The Regulations course has been designed to meet the requirements of the Royal Degree VII/10 to 13.
Objective
Those who succesfully complete this course should achieve the required knowledge of the regulations at sea, at the coast and on the river Scheldt.
Course Content
- Police and navigation regulations for the Belgian territorial sea, coastal harbour and
- beaches;
- Navigation regulations for the (Western) Scheldt River;
- VHF procedures for VTS region Scheldt River;
- Selected case studies;
- COLREGS;

Objective
Those who succesfully complete this course should achieve the required standard of competence of maritime security through heightened awareness and the ability to recognize security threats and to respond appropriately.
Course Content
- The meaning and the consequential requirements of the different security levels;
- Knowledge of emergency procedures and contingency plans;
- Recognition and detection of weapons, dangerous substances and devices
- Recognition, on a non-discriminatory basis, of characteristics and behavioural patterns of persons who are likely to threaten security
- Techniques used to circumvent security measures;

- Duties of a First Aider;
- Actions in emergencies;
- Basic life support & CPR;
- The unconscious casualty;
- Treatment for wounds, bleeding, burns, scalds, shock, fractures, dislocations and soft tissue

- Gain radio assistance and transportation & high wire transfer by heli of the sick and injured;

Scope
The Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting course has been designed to meet the requirements of the STCW Convention 1978, as amended, Table A-VI/1-2.
Objective
Those who succesfully complete this course should be able to take proper actions upon discovering a fire, to protect themselves with existing fire-fighting equipment within their workarea and to understand the importance of fire prevention.
Course Content
- Shipboard fire-fighting organization, fire man's outfit and practical training.
- Location of fire-fighting appliances and emergency escape routes;
- The elements of fire and explosion (the fire triangle);
- Types and sources of ignition;
- Flammable materials, fire hazards and spread of fire;
- Actions to be taken on board the ship;
- Fire and smoke detection and automatic alarm systems.

Scope
The Personal Survival Techniques course has been designed to meet the requirements of the STCW Convention 1978, as amended, Table A-VI/1-1.
Objective
Those who succesfully complete this course should achieve the essential practical skills and theoretical knowledge to react efficiently to an emergengy abandonment with or without a life raft.
Course Content
- Life rafts types and content. Lifeboat handling;
- Lifejackets, survival suits use and donning;
- Flares and other emergency beacons;
- Hypothermia;
- Practical: abandonment, individual and group entry;
- Practical: righting a capsized raft;
- Practical: rescue and survival techniques without a life raft;
